Weekly Small Pleasures is a blog event organised by Mani at A New Life Wandering. Each Sunday she encourages sharing the small things that made you happy each week. It’s a lovely weekly summation and always nice to share the smiles.
So what made me happy this week?
This weekend I was in London reuniting with two of my favourite girls from university. I don’t see them too often, so this was an awesome treat in itself. My three weekly pleasures will be things I encountered on my lovely weekend!
1. The London Underground. I love the underground! There’s just something so urban and busy about it that I can’t help feel all excited by. I assume that if I had to get it everyday to get to work this feeling might dissipate but while I’m just a tourist I’ll continue to enjoy it.
2. As I had a bit of a wait between bidding farewell to my friends and my train leaving (and it was pouring with rain, so boo to sightseeing) I got to sit and do not much. The silver lining to my rainy cloud was that I got to cross Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief, the first of his Percy Jackson series, off of my To Be Read list. I am such a sucker for Greek and Roman mythologies and I’m also a big fan of easy-read YA novels so this has been on my list for a long time. Book 1 down, can’t wait for the next!
3. Honest Burger. I got taken here by my friends that live in London and it is amazing. If you live in London and haven’t heard of it or if you’re visiting the city soon, read up on their locations and definitely go there. It is awesome food. Plus cute jam jar glasses and straws that look like they belong in Willy Wonka’s cupboard. Nuff said. Lush.
