On The Tenth Craft of Christmas

On the 12 days leading up to Christmas Eve I’ll be sharing with you some of my favourite Christmas-based crafty activities from all over the internet. (Most of them will be – or have been – tried by yours truly!)

The 12

Today’s Craft of Christmas was so much fun!

On the Tenth Craft of Christmas I will share with you:

Sock Snowmen!

I saw this shared on facebook a while ago and traced it back here to Handy and Homemade. There’s also an easy youtube video to follow so I’ll share that too!

I really enjoyed making these. They’re great for adults and kids, because my friend and I had a blast, as did her 3-year-old! Amendment though: we used elastic bands in the place of string – mostly just because I had some knocking about!

The video uses pins for the eyes, which look great, but we drew ours on with Sharpie (kids and pins, not good). I did use pins for their noses after the fact – when no children were around to prick themselves!

Here are our new snowmen pals!

Snowmen
I named them Sally and Simon.

I think they’re cute! They were really easy too. A spare sock, some rice and elastic bands. The rest is decoration up to you!

What do YOU do with your spare socks?
